Who We Are
Skoun is a women-led social enterprise creating sustainable and affordable menstrual products for women in Lebanon.
By virtue of being locally sourced, our product will be low-cost and affordable. Its banana fiber composition should guarantee that it is at least mostly biodegradable. This also means that it will be hypoallergenic, free of toxins and chlorine, and much safer to use than plastic based pads sold on the market.
Skoun was created to provide menstrual products for low-income communities, filling a gap that had previously left them without access.
In addition to making pads affordable, Skoun will in effect create a circular economy by up-cycling agricultural waste, providing extra income for farmers, and employing women on a massive scale.
